Anvil Empires

"We do not yield. We endure."

Origins — The Founding of Manus Mortis (2022)

The warband of Manus Mortis was founded in 2022 by SAND, alongside a group of dedicated leaders and friends. Originally envisioned as a community preparing for Dune: Awakening, the clan discovered its true home in the emerging world of Anvil Empires.

Even during the earliest testing stages, the members of Manus Mortis recognized the game's potential — a living, persistent world where cooperation, discipline, and endurance could forge lasting legacies. Under SAND's direction, the clan settled on the island of Calligo, swearing loyalty to the Remnants faction, a natural alliance for a group defined by order, unity, and resilience.

From that first day, Manus Mortis set its foundation on one unbreakable principle: We do not yield. We endure.

Transition of Command — The Era of Nielser (2023–Present)

In 2023, as Dune: Awakening development advanced, SAND departed to lead the Dune Chapter of Manus Mortis under a new name, leaving the Anvil division to continue its rise under new leadership. Command passed to Nielser, who would go on to shape the modern identity of Manus Mortis within Anvil Empires.

Under Commander Nielser, the clan grew rapidly in both structure and stature. He implemented a professional command hierarchy, refined internal organization, and emphasized a culture of mentorship — ensuring that Manus Mortis would be newcomer-friendly while maintaining the discipline that defined its veterans.

This balance of professionalism and community transformed the clan into a respected cornerstone of the Remnants faction, earning a reputation as a force that could build, fight, and teach with equal effectiveness. Through testing resets, faction shifts, and long development pauses, Manus Mortis never faltered, remaining active throughout every phase of the game's evolution.

The Age of Growth — A Banner Unbroken (2024–2025)

The years 2024–2025 marked the golden age of growth for Manus Mortis. In 2024, the clan underwent a full rebranding initiative. Through the support of its members, Manus Mortis commissioned a professional artist to design a new logo, funded entirely through community donations — quickly becoming the recognized mark of the warband across Anvil Empires and beyond.

By the start of 2025, Manus Mortis had expanded its ranks across every timezone, becoming the largest and most active warband in Anvil Empires. This growth was not achieved through recruitment alone, but through retention — new members stayed because of the culture, structure, and brotherhood they found within.

In mid-2025, the clan reached a new milestone of immersion when its leadership personally commissioned and financed a custom mod pack featuring Manus Mortis themed shields, armor, and weapons for in-game use. Created independently by the clan and funded by its members, it allowed players to visually embody the identity of Manus Mortis on the battlefield. It remains a symbol of the warband's commitment to pride, immersion, and authenticity.

The Holy Remnant Empire — Founding and Loyalty (2025 — Testing Phase)

When the first officially recognized wars began across Calligo in 2025, Manus Mortis once again took the field — loyal to the Remnants and ready to defend their lands. That same year, the Holy Remnant Empire (HRE) was founded — a coalition born of Remnant unity and discipline, composed of Manus Mortis, HISP, and several allied clans.

Manus Mortis was one of its founding and stabilizing pillars, providing leadership, structure, and manpower. Throughout every campaign, Manus Mortis has remained a constant — active, loyal, and unyielding — helping to shape the future of both the Remnants and the HRE during the ongoing testing phase of Anvil Empires.

Warborne

"From Death, Strength."

Overview

The Warborne Era marks a defining chapter in the history of Manus Mortis. From the experimental chaos of the Beta Campaign to the disciplined triumphs of the first official season, the regiment demonstrated exceptional endurance, adaptability, and unity. Through betrayal, adversity, and hard-fought victory, Manus Mortis proved its creed: "From Death, Strength."

I. The Beta Campaign (Pre-Season)

Faction: [Shroud] · Command: Gormrik & Josh · Final Placement: Rank 6 (Global) · Faction Outcome: Defeat

The Warborne Beta served as a proving ground for Manus Mortis. Under the leadership of Gormrik and Josh, the warband entered the conflict aligned with the Shroud faction. Early momentum was strong; Shroud fielded several large coalitions and appeared poised for dominance. However, internal instability soon tore through the faction.

The Newbee coalition, a massive zerg force, abandoned Shroud mid-campaign, defecting to another faction under pressure. A separate warband, PirateGaming, led by a volatile streamer, turned hostile — attacking allied holdings and sabotaging logistics.

In the aftermath, only a handful of disciplined groups remained to defend Shroud territory: Manus Mortis, MindlessZone, EazyClap, and Palayanytsia. Despite being heavily outnumbered and isolated, these remaining units held the line until the very end. Through precise coordination, strategic fortifications, and relentless defense, Manus Mortis secured a 6th place global ranking — an exceptional result under such conditions.

This campaign became the crucible in which the warband's spirit was forged. It instilled a culture of resilience, professionalism, and self-reliance that continues to define Manus Mortis today.

II. Season I — The Warborne Campaign

Faction: [Ironcreed] · Command: Kikos (First Campaign as Commander) · Final Placement: Rank 13 (Global) · Faction Outcome: Total Victory

Building upon the hard lessons of the Beta, Manus Mortis entered the first official season of Warborne as a restructured and battle-hardened warband. Leadership transitioned to Kikos. Supported by an experienced command staff and veteran core, Kikos led the regiment with composure and precision throughout the season.

From the opening battles to the closing sieges, Manus Mortis maintained a continuous operational presence, supporting allied offensives and reinforcing the frontlines. The warband contributed significantly to the faction's logistical and combat efforts, providing both manpower and organization where it mattered most.

By the campaign's conclusion, the faction achieved total victory, and Manus Mortis earned distinction among the Top 13 warbands of Season I.

III. Season 2.1 — A New Mission

Faction: [Emberwild] · Command: Kikos (Second Campaign as Commander) · Final Placement: Rank 25 (Global) · Faction Outcome: Defeat

We went in with a new vision — small scale and content. The devs split the servers into 3 EU servers and randomly placed warbands into different servers. With already lower numbers than Season 1 we ended up with empty factions. At the start of the server we had 3 active factions: purple, green, orange.

We finally got revenge on goblinos and took out their guild Driftmark and homes. We started pushing territory and PvP content frequently. As soon as we hit orange territories we started getting good PvP fights. While purple had 2 dead factions beside them, they played PvE for half of the season. Orange realized that our faction pushed them hard and we were winning, so purple — already with the biggest faction — made allies with orange and they began attacking us every war at the same time.

We kept winning the fights but were too few to go on the offensive. We fought 200 vs 500 members, and this slowly became less and less. They slowly pushed us every war until Oathbreakers saw no chance of winning and quit the season. Our faction fell apart but we and Mindless kept fighting until the end. We ended up in the baby zones.

We are relaunching Manus Mortis under new leadership, blending our clan's legacy with a fresh vision — a home for all PvP players, from the solo ganker to the hardcore ZvZ warrior.

V. Season 2.2 — New Vision, United Front

Faction: [Orange] · Command: O_Pal (First Campaign as Commander) · Final Placement: Rank 2 (Sovereign) · Faction Outcome: Victory

The developers reshaped the war entirely, locking the campaign into a direct Orange vs Purple conflict. We chose Orange, fully aware that our long-standing nemeses — Templar Knights and PoE — would be standing on the Purple side.

Recruitment became our primary focus, and Manus Mortis grew rapidly. We reached out to powerful and proven warbands: Penguins, Primal Instinct, Hitman, and most notably Oathbreakers — the largest force of them all. One by one they joined our cause, unified under a single banner. Old allies returned: Mindless stood with us again, and EazyClap, merged into SGTY, reinforced our core. All Orange-aligned guilds were brought into one shared command Discord.

Our main Orange coalition: Kontent (largest force), SGTY / EazyClap, Mindless, Manus Mortis, Deathwatch, Capra4H, and several smaller but committed warbands. Kontent and SGTY pushed south to confront Nameless and PoE. Mindless advanced north. Manus Mortis took the central position, reinforcing either front as needed.

While Kontent was awarded control of the capital due to their size — a position we ourselves could have contested — we deliberately avoided internal conflict. Unity mattered more than titles. Ironically, on the Purple side, the very conflict we avoided consumed them. Nameless claimed the capital, while Templar Knights contested it, leading to sabotage, infighting, and a slow internal collapse.

As Purple fractured, Orange advanced relentlessly. The north fell quickly; the middle followed with minimal resistance; the south eventually collapsed despite heavy fighting against Nameless. Purple forces were steadily driven back until they were confined to their starter zones.

By the final phase of the campaign, Orange operated as a single machine. We finished 2nd overall, achieving Sovereign rank — the highest placement Manus Mortis has ever reached. Not just a victory of numbers, but of leadership, unity, and vision.

Where Winds Meet

Holding the Line

Command: Asura (Guild Leader) · Vice Command: Supreme · Former Leadership: Gormrik (Guild Leader), Sylesea (Vice Leader) · Status: Early Release · Focus: GvG-Oriented (awaiting system implementation).

Manus Mortis entered Where Winds Meet with the same long-term doctrine that has defined the guild across multiple titles: organized warfare, structured command, and large-scale PvP. Early leadership under Gormrik, supported by Sylesea, established the guild's foundations, internal structure, and initial activity during the game's opening phase.

As development slowed and the reality of delayed or absent GvG systems became clear, a leadership transition was made. Command passed to Asura, with Supreme assuming the role of Vice Leader, ensuring continuity while preparing the guild for the content still to come.

Despite the lack of formal GvG, Manus Mortis did not abandon its core identity. The guild remained fully GvG-focused, using the interim period to organize internally, test group compositions, and maintain discipline. As the game entered a more stagnant phase, overall population declined, and attrition followed.

One exception was the Ukrainian group, which remained consistently active. Their leadership also evolved during this period, with command transitioning from SSSRankLord to Hydra, strengthening their cohesion and presence within the guild.

Shortly after the transition, the Ukrainian groups found a new home, and the English leaders Asura and Supreme shut down the guild. Sadly, we never got to see our skills tested in the GvG that was supposed to come.
